Yes, basic noises such as traffic, property maintenance, and essential utility service are exempt between the hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Public disturbance noises can be reported to the Enumclaw Police Department non-emergency number, or King County Animal Services (see What code enforcement does not enforce section for contact information).

Storage sheds 200 sq. ft. or under do not require a permit but do require setbacks to property lines (see setback diagram under Informational Handouts, or a Universal Building Permit under Helpful Links).

Temporary signs over 3 sq. ft. require a temporary permit and have time limitations (see sign requirements under Informational Handouts, or a Temporary Sign Permit Application under Helpful Links).

Fences in the residential district are permitted to be 4 ft. tall on the property line, and 6 ft. tall in the rear yard and/or 20 ft. back from the property line (see Fence Height Requirements in the Informational Handouts section). Fences do not require a permit.

Yes, If the proposed business meets the requirements per the Enumclaw Municipal Code, a General Business License is required (see the Home Occupation Requirements under the Informational Handouts section).

Yes, poultry is permitted in all zoning districts within the city limits, a maximum of six fowl, not including roosters are permitted on lots smaller than one acre, a maximum of one rooster is allowed per lot over one acre in size.

Yes, recreational vehicles, boat trailers, and all other vehicles not in daily use can be parked in the required front yard for no more than 48 consecutive hours and may be parked in the rear yard without a time limit (see RV Parking Diagram in the Informational Handouts section).

The property owner abutting public right-of-way in the city is to maintain such trees and/or shrubs.

Yes, city staff will review your application, and determine if the species, and location of the tree is permitted, in addition a tree permit is required for tree removal (see Street Tree Permit Application in Helpful Links).

The abutting property owner is responsible for keeping the sidewalk free from clutter, obstacles, and unsafe conditions.

A Notice of Violation letter is issued when a code violation is confirmed by the Code Enforcement Officer, if the violation is corrected before the due date the case will be closed (see Code Enforcement General Procedure Document in the Informational Handouts section).
